  • In this, 21 islands of 0.25 to 125 hectares are located in the coastal areas of Ramanathapuram and Tuticorin districts. The Gulf of Mannar Biosphere Reserve covers an area of 10,500 sq km. Gulf of Mannar National Park is 560 sq km. located on the surface. 160 km from Thoothukudi to Dhanushkodi, this park spread across the length. It has a wide variety of marine life and plants in the oceans and beaches.
  • Gulf of Mannar Biosphere Reserve is one of the six areas selected for the action plan aimed at protecting the future community, considering the threat level and biodiversity.
